She completed a post-doctorate at the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF) in the Department of Family Health Nursing under the guidance of Dr. Susan Kools. Dr. Linnard-Palmer is a tenured professor at Dominican University of California in Marin County, teaching pediatrics, research, and pharmacology. She continues her clinical practice as a pediatric oncology nurse coordinator at Stanford University, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, and as a pediatric staff nurse at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Dr. Linnard-Palmer’s research focuses on safety, treatment, and medical error reduction, understanding Power Distance, simulation safety training, and the cultural/spiritual influences on the refusal or limitation of medical treatment in pediatric healthcare. She enjoys accompanying her students abroad to explore how healthcare is delivered in different countries, including Costa Rica, Spain, and Uganda.
